| Local Firm Receives Excellence in Environmental, Health, Safety, and Security Performance Award
Organic Technologies today announced that it will receive a 2006 Excellence in Environmental, Safety, Health, & Security Performance Award from the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council (http://www.ohiochem.org). The award is being made for innovation in advancement of safety and environmental stewardship at the company’s Coshocton, Ohio facility.
Safety and Environmental Coordinator, Mark Westbrook and company Vice-President Jack Etheridge will receive the award from the Ohio Chemistry Technology Council at the Annual Awards Gala during their 29th Annual Conference on Monday, March 19, 2007.
Organic Technologies has received the following related awards in recent years:
1. Ohio Chemistry Technology Council Excellence in Responsible Care Award for 2002.
2. SOCMA Achievement Award for 2002.
3. Ohio Chemistry Technology Council Excellence in Responsible Care Award for 2003.
4. Two Ohio Chemistry Technology Council Excellence in Environmental, Health, Safety, & Security Awards for 2005.
Westbrook explained that the awards “are the fruit of Organic Technologies ongoing efforts to emphasize safety, conservation and good business stewardship.” He further explained that he has found it “very rewarding to work with the local Emergency Planning Committee and local Fire Department in order to establish and maintain good communications.” “I especially appreciate the work of Fire Inspector Jeff Corder who has been helpful to us concerning fire safety and hazardous materials regulations, and has also given us helpful training input.” Westbrook added, “We also appreciate the efforts by the Coshocton Fire Department to include some of our key safety personnel in own their Hazardous Response Training Programs.”
